The words of the Prophet Isaiah, accepting Hashem’s mission, are engraved on the memorial in the central military cemetery in Yerushalyim, which commemorates the 524 Jews from Pre-State Israel who died on foreign soil while serving in the British army during WWII.0
In total, approximately 12,000 members of the “Yishuv” volunteered for service in the British army.0The cemetery is the final resting place for those who gave their lives in defense of the State and its citizens, from before the State was established through the fatalities in the current war.0
While obviously, everything depends on the will of Hashem, having a strong State of Israel is the maximum that we can do to guarantee that there will never be another Holocaust. Therefore, those who are buried in the military cemeteries have given their lives not only for those Jews who are privileged to live in Israel, but for Jews everywhere.0
